Tokyo Leather Fair canceled due to COVID-19
2 June, 2021 by Alberto in Design

The Tokyo Leather Fair in Japan, which was scheduled for May 26-27, 2021, was cancelled to ensure the health and safety of all visitors, workers and exhibitors. and all others involved.

The event organizers issued a statement in which they apologize for any inconvenience caused to those planning to visit the fair and thank them for their understanding. The international event dedicated to the leather sector has been postponed to December 1 and 2, 2021, health conditions permitting.

In the cancelled edition -which was the 102nd of this important fair- tanners and leather wholesalers were going to present their novelties to thousands of people. This fabric has a diversity of applications in the fashion world, from shoes, to bags, dresses, skirts, pants, jackets, etc.

Exhibitors are looking forward to meeting visitors in early December in Japan’s capital. Scientists from the Japan Leather Research Institute, which has been studying this animal fabric since 1938, are also expected to be present.

Artisans also have their place at the fair. The new ways of working leather in an artisan way but innovating in machinery, will be presented at this event in December. As well as synthetic leather, which is increasingly booming.

Novelties, trends and designs of leather clothing

The purpose of the event is to spread the value of Japan’s leather industry both nationally and internationally. This fashion show contributes to revitalize the business of all those who form the sector, expand the market and fulfill a social mission.

Knowing the trends, novelties and designs related to this material is something that benefits the entire fashion industry globally. Tickets to attend are now available through the official website of the Tokyo Leather Fair.
