Many clothing brands have long been committed to sustainability strategies in their day-to-day business. This way of working is reflected in the collections that we first see on the catwalks and then in the windows of physical stores and e- commerce platforms.
This way of designing, manufacturing and selling is also present in underwear fashion. The use of natural and recycled fabrics is an ethical way of producing and caring for the environment that surrounds us and the planet on which we and future generations live.
For example, organic cotton and other skin-friendly eco-friendly materials are part of this trend. Another fabric such as hemp is naturally antibacterial, remarkably soft and very breathable, something that is extremely comfortable for our underwear such as thongs, briefs, panties or bras.
And not only that, other companies use recycled material such as plastic bottles for the waistband elements of the underwear.
The manufacturing process of many of these companies is included in the fair trade that works with local producers of raw materials. In addition, the designers are not looking for the garments to have a short life but work so that these undergarments have a long durability over time, favoring slow fashion.
